A team from the University of Murcia gets international award for a drink goat milk and lemon juice (12/02/2009)

A team of three students and coordinated by two professors from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Murcia has won the first contest for Food Innovation for Students "Trophelia Europe 2008" for a product made from goat milk and juice lemon.

The students of Veterinary Medicine, Ana Maria Paterna, Silvia and Ana María Sánchez Rovira, and teachers of Food Technology, José Eduardo Ferrandini Laencina and competed with students from seven other European countries within the International Agribusiness Exhibition, held in Paris .

The winning students explained at a reception in the Convalescent, home of the Rector of the University of Murcia, the product's success lies in the novelty of adding lemon juice to milk goats.

"The jury, said the prize of the nice texture of the drink and easy to prepare, making it very cost effective."

"While we, precisely, it took several months to find the right amount of lemon to sour result."

Professor Laencina advanced that has already begun the process of patenting this food, there is no history of manufacturing and marketing.
