The Mayor called the Murcia to mobilize with the irrigators in defense of the Tagus Diversion (04/02/2009)

He says that "it is time to denounce the policy which harms the interests and rights of the Region

Mayor House, along with other councilors who are members of the Municipal People's Party group, adheres to the call of the irrigators in defense of the Tajo-Segura and appeals to Murcia to join a planned civic concentration tomorrow in order to publicly express "our defense of water we need."

Chamber encourages all Murcia to express the "indispensable need for this land to receive a steady flow contribution over time to ensure the development and welfare of Murcia" since "it is time to denounce the policy which harms clearly the rights and interests of the Region of Murcia. "

The Mayor reminded that denying that we need water for all "would seriously undermine the present and future of our town and its inhabitants", which is why it is essential that "tomorrow, once again, reclaim the water essential to ensure our survival, although we all know that the Tagus is not enough "."

House believes that "we must reclaim the water we need and it is vital for our region to talk with optimism for employment, development and welfare."

On the occasion of the merger called for tomorrow by the irrigators, the Board of Governors approved a resolution institution which, among other considerations, claims:

The urgent and compelling need to see Murcia definitively resolved the shortage of water resources, as happens today.

Remember that the National Government is the agency responsible for providing such resources, which are vital to guarantee the future of Murcia and Murcia.

Murcia, thanks to citizen engagement, is one of the communities with the lowest water consumption per capita per day in Europe, despite the increase in population and the hot weather in which we live, a fact which in theory requires a higher consumption .

The town needs water for all, to grow, save the economy and continue to generate employment, which is committed to pursuing the City Council.
