This code has been joined more than 1,500 Spanish municipalities, including Murcia.

Urbanism has coordinated for a year a working group that participated in the Spanish Federation of Municipalities, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, AETIC and municipal political groups in order to make the new ordinance.

The aim of the new ordinance is to define the powers of the City Council in telephony, simplifying the procedures for licensing, regulating the implementation plans of mobile operators and ensuring the information to citizens, making periodic measurements and can access implementation plans.

In that sense, the ordinance provides that the Corporation take concrete action to achieve a better public information on the emission of radio infrastructure installed in the municipal and other issues related to its effects on health or the environment.

It also encouraged all those means of promoting the peace and public safety and establish mechanisms for local participation that are appropriate for such purposes.

In an exercise of political responsibility, the three groups of City Hall, PP, PSOE and IU have a bet with this ordinance, and adherence to the Code of Good Practice, by placing our city a leader in the information society and new technologies, with full security for citizens.
