The Hospital Reina Sofia has made 44 changes in the location of pregnancy in 2008 (22/01/2009)

The General Hospital Universitario Reina Sofía de Murcia processed during the last year 44 cases of adaptation of job or relocation due to pregnancy, including the case that the union has publicly denounced SPS.

The Committee on adaptation and relocation center for health reasons, an independent body composed of equal numbers of union representatives (Cemsatse, CCOO and UGT) and representatives of the Administration, and attended the service advisor Occupational Health and Safety with voice but without vote, unanimously decided, after looking into the request of a professional, working in the Service-ray, adapting their jobs to their pregnancy status.

The Commission relied on measures that dictates the Nuclear Security Council on the protection of pregnant workers exposed to ionizing radiation for the adaptation of everyday professional life.

The Commission established appropriate security measures established by Law, to ensure safety compliance with all current regulations and that the performance of their work are no risks to pregnant women.

The Directorate of Hospital Reina Sofia and Ray Service complied with the adaptation of job, which exempted the professional conduct of certain actions within the service.

Among the preventive measures was assigned a lead apron, approved and specifically advised by the Nuclear Security Council, whose weight is 3.8 kilograms and has not had to use this pro in no time, and that the actions required their use are distributed among other workers.

362 cases of occupational risk for pregnancy in 2008

Murcia Health Service, through the operation of a specific resolution to regulate the management of cases of adaptation to the job or relocation of pregnancy and lactation, last year processed 362 requests from all occupational categories to promote conditions protect labor and professionals in the maternity period.

The Murcia region has been the first community in regular professional relocation pregnancy.

Of the 255 cases sent to the mutual processed there was a positive assessment of 229.
