The Socialist Party calls on the PP to spend "more on public transport and less on advertising and propaganda" (20/01/2009)

Article submitted by PSOE:

CUTS AND MISSING ON INVESTMENT IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT

José Manuel Abellán requests PP leaders in the Ministry of Transportation and the City, to spend more in public transportation and less on Publicity and Propaganda

In recent months, only there have been cuts in public transport, we have recently witnessed a series of cuts ranging from municipal to regional level, but that if ever worsening conditions for Murcia to access public transport .

Put another way, the City Council and the Ministry every day put it more difficult for citizens who need public transportation.

Removed the line to the airport.

What solution are responsible for the PP for those who can not afford taxi?.

Removed the line for city workers health.

What solution PP leaders provide workers who can not afford the parking, if you take your car, or for those without private vehicles?.

Removed the line that came to the village Torreguil in Sangonera la Verde.

Cuts in bus owl, both in frequency and scheduling, and safely.

What solution PP Councillors provide young people who can not afford taxi?

Okay, but unrealistic.

In the municipality of Murcia have been removed booster buses at peak hours in the bus lines that carry more people to the city such as line 5, line 30 and 31.

What solution are the leaders of the PP for citizens not to travel like sardines at rush hour?

This will not go cold.

All these cuts are not of receipt if you want to improve public transport in the region and the municipality of Murcia.

With the elimination of the transmission lines and these reinforcements the only thing the City Council and the Autonomous get is an increase in private car journeys.

The deficits that public transport has in Murcia and is increasing day by day only serve to impair the development of Murcia and our collective welfare.

To all this we must remember again that we have the most expensive public transport in Spain and a pricing policy that rewards individual ticket rather than priority to the use of bonds.
