More than 5,500 people are added to the register of inhabitants of the municipality (18/12/2008)

The city of Murcia has already formed a pattern that exceeds a total of 430,125 inhabitants, January 1, 2008, a figure from the past year has increased by 5580 people.

The Plenum of the Corporation has approved this morning the annual review of municipal register of inhabitants of Murcia, dated January 1, 2008.

Of the total population, 179,441 are in the neighborhoods of the city, while the rest are distributed in the districts (250 684).

As of December 17, 2008 the standard has now reached 438,941 inhabitants.

Moreover, the number of foreigners registered in the municipality reached a figure of 55,672 inhabitants.

The largest number of foreign residents from Morocco (12 210), Ecuador (9978), Bolivia (6822), Ukraine (3627), Colombia (2557), Bulgaria (2251) and Romania (2168).

It should be noted in this connection that has experienced a decline in respect Moroccans and Ecuadorians, as the number of registered persons of these nationalities has dropped, have been discharged 80 people in Morocco and 154 in Ecuador.

Faced with this decline is the significant increase registered from Bolivia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and United Kingdom.

High from other municipalities: 10,557

High from abroad: 7,725

High default (in this section are foreigners who do not come directly from their countries of origin have not been registered in another municipality and come to Murcia): 1,333

Low by destination to other municipalities: 11,871

Low to destinations abroad: 455

Another of the changes produced in the municipal are produced by the change of address within the municipality, in this case the figure rises to 25,534 changes.

Decrease the population in the neighborhoods.

Compared with last year, it is noteworthy that the neighborhoods have undergone a population decline, which has moved into the districts of the municipality of Murcia.
