The major works and implementation of new educational projects, key in 2009 (17/12/2008)

The expansion and improvement of schools and the implementation of new educational projects to encourage the participation of the educational community will be the most important actions to take place next year 2009 by the Department of Education and City Council Staff Murcia, who heads Megía Pilar.

The Department will manage the next financial year a total budget of 43,171,755 euros, where the investment section for services to education has increased by 126%.

In this sense, it is noteworthy that one of the most important action to undertake next year is the expansion of four public schools in the municipality of Murcia, thanks to a contribution that the City will receive from the Autonomous Community.

During 2009, contracts and execute the actions to be ready in 2010. The extensions are:

Implementation of expansion project of six units of child labor in the CEIP Our Lady of Tears, head of Torres.

Start of six new units in the new kindergarten school in El Palmar.

Remember that the land on which to build the center were donated by the city of Murcia.

These actions correspond to the first phase of implementation.

Expansion of three early childhood education units, offices and toilets in the public school Our Lady of Las Maravillas de Los Martínez del Puerto.

Expanding children's ward and dining in the hamlet Arteaga CEIP Sucina Murcia.

Moreover, the proposed maintenance and improvement of public schools in the municipality of Murcia will remain a priority objective of the City of Murcia for next year.

The financial contribution will go to projects for improvement and maintenance of the 116 schools with 1,322 classrooms and 260 buildings.

In 2009 also continue with the proposed removal of architectural barriers, which began a few years ago, and which will provide fully accessible and comfortable facilities for all.

"Delight in the courtyard: A new landscape." In order to promote activities among students so as to affect the good condition of their schools, the educational community awareness of the importance of becoming a sustainable center, providing the resources necessary to identify the vegetation of the courts and schools closer to citizens by scheduling different activities, the Department of Education will launch the "Delight in the courtyard: A new landscape."

This activity will take place in all schools in the county, but this year 2008-2009 (as a pilot) to be performed in a total of 15 schools.

Applicants must submit a proposal for action in the service of the Department of Education.

The Action Plan focuses on giving special attention to the outdoor spaces of schools, from three different points:

Cleaning, maintenance and aesthetics of the new patios.

Development of strategies for educational use.

Doors open for the patio serves as a meeting and enjoy the general public.

Extracurricular activities.

In 2009 also will launch the program of extracurricular activities, outside school hours, after the pilot that has been underway since the beginning of school year 2008-2009.

Activities is voluntary for students and seeking the active involvement of the entire educational community.

The themes on which work are: evening of theater, science workshops, we get closer to nature, through visits to the Malecón and Salitre-know museums and learn to live together.

Educational Offering. In addition to consolidating this comprehensive program that is offered to all schools in the municipality of Murcia, next year will see the addition of three new action programs, which are:

- Programme for the prevention of violence and enhancing peaceful coexistence, through the workshop "Learning to live together."

There will be workshops for postgraduate students of primary and ESO.

- In the area of the Plan for Equal Opportunities between men and women of the City of Murcia, will be held to develop a workshop "Equal parts: Two Things", which aims to coordinate measures to promote equal opportunities the formal education system.

- Celebration of "I literary contest, photo and drawing: Murcia with another look" which aims to encourage students to reflect the view of things around him.

It rewards the imagination, creativity, originality and representation of values that promote the school.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

The consolidation of activities focused on environmental education will be enhanced with the inclusion of two projects will be launched next year:

- Botanical Gardens.

This project aims to revalue the rich botanical heritage of the school grounds so the Department will provide advice to the education community through a special needs teacher on the proper maintenance of trees, shrubs and plants that have special significance.

This project will be in line with the "Delight in the courtyard: A new landscape."

- School Gardens.

This project arises from the need to give schools resources and advice for the operation of ecological gardening centers that request and meet the requirements.

From the Department shall provide the services of a specialized environmental educator and material resources needed to grow crops, mostly vegetables, with the participation and involvement of the educational community.

The organic garden must meet educational functions and it may be working on aspects such as composting or recycling and reuse of water for irrigation.

Moreover, it should be noted that a course has gone from 18 to 24 green schools and are already seven schools in purchasing this distinctive crown to the centers as ecological niches in which the entire school community is actively involved.

SCHOOL CHILDREN

As for the service offered from seven kindergartens in the municipality, the Department will continue in line with work being undertaken in the last few years and focused on delivering a quality service.

Thus, with the intention of ensuring that quality, from the City of Murcia is going to carry out all appropriate action to obtain the "Q" quality "in the seven centers for school children 0 to 3 years old .
