IU + Greens in Murcia on Wednesday criticized the government team for "presumed" to have replaced the traditional Christmas lights for other low power "when the truth is that these ornaments has moved to the districts and increased the number of decorated streets ".

La concejala de esa formación en la capital, Esther Herguedas, exigió al consistorio un "mayor control" del consumo de esas luces en el casco urbano y en las pedanías, donde el alumbrado navideño se encendió hace diez días.

 

"El ayuntamiento tendría que tener en cuenta que manifestó su compromiso, al menos sobre el papel, con las políticas de desarrollo sostenible y con el cumplimiento del Protocolo de Kyoto", declaró Herguedas.

 

           

He also recalled that IU + Greens introduced in Parliament last November a package of measures to reduce energy consumption, among which were reduced to 15 days and 4 hours each day of the lighting of the Christmas lights, with the to contribute to the fight against climate change.
