The Government delegate visit the new Post Office Stables (12/12/2008)

The government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, and the provincial chief of Posts and Telegraphs, Santiago García Pérez, this morning visited the new Post Office Stables, which will serve over 15,000 residents spread across the parish and other their area of influence, such as Zeneta, Los Ramos and Torreagüera.

González Tovar reported that adaptation of the new facility represents an investment of over 150,000, and that the center has been equipped with all the computer resources currently being used by the post, including admission programs, transmission and admission of telegrams, emergency products, and money to foreign countries, certificates, etc.

He also noted that the Stables Centre Post Office has moved from Assistant to join the Multi-Branch Network, which is an extension of time, from two hours of opening in the old office to the extension of full-time in the present.

Also involves the incorporation of the same services at the Principal Office, among which BanCorreos, which can be hired from a bank loan to open a checking account, or making everyday payments and the receipt of electricity, gas, etc.

Another benefit is the Western Union that allows the sending of remittances to more than 190 countries around the world in minutes, and other less sophisticated but also very useful as mobile recharge, acquisition of these, the post office for Tour card procurement of travel and hotels, among others.

The Government delegate noted that Post has invested this year in the region 1.5 million euros to renovate Aljucer workplaces, Fuente Alamo, Librilla, Calasparra, Lorca, Mazarron Cartagena branch 1 and, among others.

It has also undertaken the refurbishment of the building of the Plaza Circular of Murcia with an investment of 2.5 billion euros.

In his view, "these are investments that have a doubly positive impact, because on the one hand provide a needed service to the community, in fact, the Region of Murcia has 170 offices.

In addition, Post is the largest employer in the country with over 60 thousand employees, of which 1,500 work in our region. "
