Technology and accessible to all parties (12/12/2008)

Stimulate and promote the approach to new technologies is one of the main objectives of the council of Quality and Modernization of the Administration directed by Rafael Gomez.

In this task are based budgets for 2009 that are intended for participation and training in the area of new technologies, and promotion of festivals and cultural activities in the Popular Culture.

For 2009 it is estimated that over 52,000 may make use in the classrooms of free access and telecentres in the municipal system: the intention of the council is to continue the dynamic service delivery and management of classrooms open access and telecentres, serving to users, providing training courses and offering them a catalog of useful services for citizens.

To this end, the City of Murcia has 12 classrooms on Free Access (9 in WiFi wireless technology) and 14 telecentres representing a total of 26 centers and 278 stations or public access points free internet.

Another action that will further enhance the delivery of technological literacy of citizens in the classroom network of free access and telecentres and training activities of the "Internet Made Easy" (it made 52 editions, which involves 625 participants) and of the "Office software for all" (24 courses for 360 users).

As new performance in 2009 is going to start training activities "TNT's new TV for our seniors."

Given the imminence of digital switchover, in the 76 Centres for the Elderly of the municipality is going to do workshops for seniors to explain the new DTT technology and equipment necessary for viewing and tuning of the signal, with service directly to resolve doubts.

Another objective is to extend the connection to municipal portal in open public spaces with wireless technology (WIFI Murcia) within the project "City Hall is always open (24 x 7 hours).

Murcia WIFI network has 8 locations in parks and gardens of the city and some districts for access to information and services of municipal Web sites.

Will also continue to manage European accreditation management computer (ECDL) for which the procedure has been reviewed 121 candidates in 2008 and 16 courses are being conducted in preparation for the knowledge tests.

Other actions will focus on continuing to provide training services free, open and distance learning through Internet courses Mentor learning with more than 100 courses online, managing the network of free Internet in the 17 points (PI ) in public spaces and expand municipal buildings or facilities with spaces free internet access using wireless technology (WIFI).

At the moment there are 9 municipal buildings that have access points that allow connection to the network.

Festivals and Popular Culture

Celebrations and street action, concerts and more neighborhood participation in party activities is the goal of the council of Festivals and Popular Culture for 2009.

At the end of 2009 are 54 cultural centers and Municipal Auditorium.

Of these, 4 are audiences, incorporating Algezares Auditorium to existing Beniaján, head of Torres and La Alberca.

In 2009 it put in place the cultural centers of Santiago and Santo Ángel y Zaraiche to offer a wide range of leisure and free time.

As Municipal Auditorium, the task will focus on the implementation of the new Auditorium Algezares which requires a start-up work we hope to have completed by the end of 2009.

Activities will be based on the dissemination and promotion of performing arts, with special emphasis on supporting companies and creators of Murcia, as well as social and cultural use of the rooms as a community resource.

The area of Festivals and Popular Culture maintains, in view of the 2009 budget, all existing agreements with the various associations and cultural groups in the municipality to continue promoting festivals and cultural activities of the city and its districts, with a overall containment of spending to offset the effects of the current economic crisis.

of which EUR 1,592,020 corresponding to Festivals and Popular Culture

and 1,402,000 are for Informatics, and other $ 22,000 for Information to the public service.

The EUR 14,744,873 EUR 4,131,258 broken down into Citizens Information Other Information 3,599,466 and 7,014,149 euros for Party and Popular Culture.

Total expenditure decreased by 7.27%.
