Sports exceeds its investment record 320 million euros for works (10/12/2008)

The Department of Sports, headed by Miguel Cascales, beat a record year in investments earmarked EUR 320 million works.

Among the major works to be carried out in 2009 is the Olympic Center to be built in Churra and will feature sports pavilions, swimming pools, outdoor football pitches, a home for sports and medical center.

For these works are devoted 150 million euros.

Also includes the demolition of the old stadium of La Condomina to build a large sports facility that services all the neighbors of the center of Murcia.

For this initiative provides an investment of 100 million euros.

Among the major projects is also building a new pavilion Cagigal (10 million euros), a sports facility in the district of San Anton (6 million) and construction of tennis courts, paddle tennis and outdoor sports courts free in various districts.

The total budget for the Department of Sports for 2009 is 22,700,000 euros, and the planned investment is 320 million euros.
