El Centro Parraga participates in international theater festivals in Bordeaux and Parma (29/11/2008)

Párraga Center has participated in work spaces proposed by the two international theater festivals that have taken place recently in Europe.

This is the Festival "Look!"

Bordeaux (France) and the International Festival 'Natura Dei Teatri' of Parma (Italy).

Speaking at the Festival "Look!", Organized by the National Theater of Bordeaux, the director of Centro Parraga, John Nicholas, gave three examples of the recreation of unconventional spaces for contemporary art scene in the Region of Murcia, La rehabilitation and use of the former artillery barracks in cultural complex (with flags currently occupied by the University City Library, the Conservatory of Music and the Centro Parraga), the project La Fragua, in the old buildings near the station trains, and new challenges for the design and conceptualization of the Roman Theatre of Cartagena as a possible space for contemporary performing arts.

The Festival "Look!"

is a biennial that has existed since 2002 (first was held in Toulouse and later in Bordeaux) and whose objective is to bring the French public and professionals some of the Spanish and Portuguese artists highlights of the contemporary scene.

In this context was held in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes, a special event focused on new Spanish areas, such as the slaughterhouse of Madrid, the Tabacalera de San Sebastian, Bilbao The Corn Exchange, The Education of Gijón and the Center Párraga Murcia.

Thus, names like Ximo Flores, Jerez and Juan Domínguez Cuqui included next to John Nicholas, director of 'Párraga' in this workshop that explores the reuse and adaptation of historic spaces and industrial building new centers.

On the other hand, 'Párraga' was present at the XIII International Festival 'Teatri Natura Dei,' which took place in Parma and Colorno.

The festival opened a free and informal discussion on current theater space between architects, creative artists and spectators CONTECNICA during performances and events.
