Green light for 12 development cooperation projects, four of awareness and two direct action in Bolivia and Ecuador (21/11/2008)

The Municipal Council for Cooperation and Awareness, chaired by Remigio Lopez, has agreed to grant subsidy to a total of 12 cooperation projects presented by NGOs, as well as raising four and two direct action projects that the city of Murcia will conducted in Ecuador and Bolivia.

For development cooperation projects will be allocated 300,000 euros to important sectors such as gender, education, agriculture, infrastructure management, water resources and strengthening of municipalities.

The 12 projects are:

- Community Development Institute Expansion CFDR to support women and microenterprise second installment (Cameroon).

Manos Unidas to improve educational conditions for communities in the region of Machakos (Kenya).

Peace and Development Association improving the environmental conditions of the collection of the landfill of municipal solid waste in betanzos (Bolivia).

Vicente Ferrer Foundation to improve the productivity of land belonging to poor farmers of Anantapur district by installing irrigation systems for agriculture (India).

UNESCO Centre of Murcia for the construction of schools in the cooperative system for indigenous groups in the Chaco region of Paraguay (Paraguay).

F.diagrama psychosocial intervention program for strengthening the academic and psychosocial support to children excluded or at risk of leaving primary schools Kasba Tadla (Morocco).

Engineers Without Borders for the integrated management of water resources in the upper river subbasin old (Nicaragua).

Foundation Entreculturas faith and joy for the coverage of educational needs through the preparation and provision of facilities for balan duanaminthe pedagogical implementation (Haiti).

Humanism and democracy foundation for improving local governance capacity for the promotion of the territory (Peru).

Segovia Acsur the sanitation and environmental health in the community cocosiga Usulutan Department (El Salvador).

Murcia Welcomes promoting sustainable production initiatives in the community (Peru).

Mundi teachers to equip the internship / residency tagua vocational training center Phase III students without resources and indigenous rural area inside the country (Panama).

On the other hand, there are awareness-raising projects that are going to spend 51,000 euros and will be held in Murcia.

These are the following:

- Community Development Institute VI and VII Olympic Solidarity study, awareness and implications for international cooperation of all social sectors in the Region of Murcia.

- Association of Friends of the Saharawi people placed in temporary care of children from the Saharawi refugee camps in Tindouf, with families in the municipality of Murcia in the months of July and August

- Movement for Peace, Disarmament and Development Cooperation youth and freedom.

- Blue Murcia Action for education and awareness program for the development and promotion of solidarity among schoolchildren in the municipality of Murcia.

Finally, this morning has also noticed the next projects to be undertaken directly by the municipality.

It will act on one side in Ecuador through the construction of classrooms for two schools in the province of El Oro, Santa Rosa county.

This project targets especially the high incidence of Ecuadorian population in the municipality of Murcia is a native of this province is estimated at about 6,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries.

On the other hand has been one of the areas affected by flooding that occurred earlier this year.

The other project will be construction in El Alto in Bolivia's future home-school workshop and training center with a vocational college.

The City of Murcia has a wide experience in running training workshops and has provided advice, taking care to keep track of it.

The project will target two segments of the population, one is for all those young graduates in basic education and who have no knowledge or experience, and the other sector of the population will be aimed at adults, especially women who want to work and lack of professional knowledge can not.
