House puts the cooperative Severo Ochoa as a reference for creating the network of schools in the municipality (15/11/2008)

The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, has been honored tonight by the Cooperative Severo Ochoa to mark the 25 anniversary of its establishment.

House has received from the Director of the center, Jesus Ladrón de Guevara, Antonio Campillo a sculpture depicting a woman playing with her son.

The Mayor praised the work of this school that represents the project advocated by the council, which in recent years has initiated a plan for the sale of municipal land for the establishment of nurseries promoted by cooperatives.

"It's a reference to take account of the creation of this network of schools in the neighborhoods and districts, especially in responding to the demand for schooling from 0 to 3 years," said the Mayor.

In his view, the cooperative Severo Ochoa is a model not only as an educational project, but also for generation and job creation and "contributes to strengthen the freedom of parents to choose the educational model."

Chamber recalled that the center Severo Ochoa had its origins in the efforts of the pastor of The Claws that, accompanied by seven others, were able to realize the cooperative, which originally was a training center, and which now study more 1,200 students and employs some 80 teachers.

In addition to the Mayor, have been awarded the Regional Government President, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, Juan Antonio Pedroza, president of UCOMUR, CajaMurcia, Luis Navarro, Juan Ángel Spain, Cajamar Benzal Raimundo, Juan Antonio Camacho and Juan José Belando, President Municipal Council of The Open.
