A new DVD on the medieval Murcia can watch 3D virtual reconstruction of Follow Alcazar, the castle of Monteagudo and Cathedral (11/11/2008)

The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, accompanied by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Inmaculada García, presented this morning a new DVD that offers 3D virtual reconstruction of key scenes in the medieval history of the city, including the Joint Palatino Monteagudo, Alcazar Track or the Cathedral of Murcia in the late fifteenth century.

Mayor House during the presentation recalled the exciting period of splendor that opened after the founding of the city of Murcia for Rahman II and reached the city development in Islamic period until the Christian reconquest, when Murcia became a territory border.

"This work" explained Mayor-condenses and presents a clear and entertaining the importance of our city during the time, turned into a center of attraction, not only for merchants and travelers, but also for major artists, scientists and philosophers ".

In this regard, the DVD also offers a journey through the biographies of key figures in this period, as Ibn Hud, Alfonso X the Wise and Don Juan Manuel, and events that shaped the future of Murcia during the Middle Ages, as its foundation the year 825, the Treaty of Alcaraz in 1243 or the visit of the Catholic Monarchs in 1488.

This comprehensive tour of the medieval history of the city of Murcia can be done mainly through a 27-minute documentary of life, various specific video also includes interviews with experts, and virtual spaces that allow interactive tour through Internet sites as the Arab Baths and the walled city.

In a collection

The DVD presented this morning is part of a collection of 5 DVDs for each of the documentaries that have been made about the Middle Ages.

In 2006 he elaborated on archaeological and ancient history of the region that have made the "5 Tiles of Our History": Begastri, Medina Siyasa, La Bastida, Fortuna, Mula, an example of how to use new technologies to disseminate and somehow preserve our heritage and our historical roots.

Thus, we have recreated virtually castles and characters of the age of some of the enclaves of our most important region in the XIV, XV and XVI as were Murcia, Lorca, Yecla, Jumilla, Moratalla and Aledo, of which present today the result of one dedicated to Murcia.

These papers will be distributed by schools, libraries, etc..

so they can be available to all citizens of the Region of Murcia.
