Nine young promoted from his experience volunteering in disadvantaged countries (04/11/2008)

Nine young people who participated in the first experience as volunteers in cooperation promoted by the City Council will support an awareness campaign about volunteering.

From his experience will design outreach activities in the municipality.

The Department of Youth and Employment and Development Cooperation, have been launched this year a new city program aimed at providing young Murcia the opportunity to participate actively in the development of volunteer work in disadvantaged countries.

The Municipal Youth born Cooperation Volunteers moved for greater social sensitivity regarding cooperation and solidarity with the less developed countries, to encourage youth volunteerism Murcia values of coexistence, tolerance, solidarity, participation and intercultural learning.

Nine are the young people during the months of July, August and September 2008 participated in projects in Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru and Morocco.

They have had the opportunity to participate actively in the development of a better world and a knowledge of other cultures through direct and daily interaction with other people within organizations that promote and manage cooperation projects funded the city of Murcia.

The experiences reflected in the reports that young people themselves have developed in his turn, indicate that participation in these projects of development cooperation has played a role in advocacy and personal enrichment very positive.

Youth who have participated in these projects of development cooperation have made an enormous-both personal and work-to own ONG'D and institutions and persons benefiting from the projects in countries of destination.

These young people will design a series of awareness activities to be held in the municipality, from January 2009 and will be organized by the volunteers / NGOs as with partners and the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation the general population, with specific actions for young school students, vocational training and university.

The projects involved are the following:

PROJECT Urban Safety through construction of retaining walls in the streets of the slum-Bridge Cerrito Freedom Rock "-VOLUNTEERS: 2

MOROCCO-PSYCHOSOCIAL INTERVENTION FOUNDATION DIAGRAM

PROJECT: academic and psychosocial support to children excluded or at risk of leaving the primary schools of the town of Kasba Tadla.
