The Science Week opens a new scientific play on the importance of the environment (04/11/2008)

Week of Science and Technology opens on Thursday at its new location of the Botanical Garden of The Pier, a new scientific drama co-produced by the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, through the Seneca Foundation and the Icon Theatre Company Murcia.

The work, titled "Journey to the heart of the tree ', is Fulgencio Martínez Lax, playwright and professor at the School of Drama and Dance in Murcia, and Jesus Galera, stage director and puppeteer.

In it, two girls, to save a diseased tree, take a trip through the world of animals and plants to understand the importance of the health of our environment.

One of the key objectives of the Ministry in the Science Week is to employ all possible tools, such as theater, cinema, exhibitions and workshops to involve citizens in the region of the adventure that is science and to show the role it plays in our quality of life in terms of health, environment, food, energy and culture.

In the last edition of the Science Week, theatrical activities were a great success, so this year we have extended with the new representation.

In addition to 'Journey to the heart of the tree', visitors to the site of the Fair on the Malecon will enjoy the work of 'microteatro' puppet 'Sonia and chalk the sun', where, thanks to the imagination, and Sonia friends manage to invent non-polluting transportation in the city to return to see clear skies, and 'water stories', to meet the Duende that teaches the proper use of water.

Also for the first time a group of actors animate four points on the Week of Science at the center of the city of Murcia.

Fair Week of Science and Technology will be held from Thursday to Sunday and will feature over 300 activities, 70 stands, three tents for exhibitions, as well as the participation of 47 institutions.

The schedule of activities on Thursday and Friday from 10:00 to 14:00, and 17:00 to 21:00.

On Saturday and Sunday hours are 11:00 to 14:00, and 17:00 to 21.00.

Overview of the new work

Martha and Nina are two girls back from school are a strange bird and a mole are very worried because his friend the tree is very sick.

In this situation, decided to consult the owl, who knows everything, how they can help to improve soon.

Owl words are crucial: They have to find the heart of the tree and drop a few drops of magic liquid that will heal the tree almost immediately.

The two girls will enter inside the tree by following the instructions given them the owl and discover an extraordinary world to them unknown.

The work is an adventure story in which it affects the values of friendship, effort and respect for nature from their knowledge and understanding.
