The exhibition hall hosts AV space, from now until Jan. 31, the show 'Showtime', in which the artist Eduardo Pérez Salgado Union ponders over 12 paintings about violence as a constituent of contemporary subject.
Salguero Pérez explores the exhibition, which opens this evening at 20:00 hours, the scenic possibilities of his work turning the tables on stage, with a haunting atmosphere set in the development of a chaotic show, effect of power with the intervention in the space of the room through the wall paintings.
During the presentation of the exhibition, attended by the Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez, the director of AV space, Isabel Tejeda, said Salguero Pérez "exemplifies the paint pop is doing now in the Region ".
In addition, the head of Visual Arts said, "This exhibition, produced by the Autonomous Community is created especially for this exhibition space, in which the author has worked in the room continuing his paintings on the walls and pillars."
Salguero Pérez's work speaks of the normalization of the image of violence through nostalgic iconography drawn animation series for television, film and sci-fi action series B or classic cartoon from the 50 and 60 , which is integrated into a balanced composition of fields of flat color bar patterns or concentric circles.
The author also uses short messages out of context, always in English, which act as calls for attention or action titles for novels that highlight the climate of violence.
Along with the exhibition, which runs until Jan. 31, has published a catalog with texts by Santiago Olmo critical in analyzing the work of Pérez Salgado.
