The Romea Theatre will reopen in fall of next year totally rejuvenated after taking out the Comprehensive Plan for Restoration and Rehabilitation.
The works, large scale, have a cost of 6 million euros and its implementation will be possible thanks to collaboration between the municipality, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, CajaMurcia and Mediterranean Fund, whose leaders have signed the agreement this morning containing conditions and contributions of each institution to enable this performance.
The intervention affects both the inside and outside of the building designated as a Site of Cultural Interest.
The first works being carried out affect the conservation of the facades, roofs, installations and stage equipment.
Regarding the interior, are already taking steps to installing a new comb, beginning, starting now, the other actions in parallel.
Thus, it will renew all the patio seating, amphitheater and boxes will change the flooring and carpeting and air conditioning installed.
Remember that in summer 2005 and will begin work in the theater, dressing rooms and toilet repair and replacement of marble, carpet entry and adaptation of doors.
Teatro Romea de Murcia has its origins in the nineteenth century and is built on the site of the former convent of Santo Domingo.

It has a large pit surrounded by stalls and boxes at three levels and three additional steps.
