The biodiversity of the Mediterranean in the heart of the city (24/10/2008)

Two tents that inspire their appearance in the igloos of the polar regions, natural areas cozy and fit perfectly into any environment, today hosting the exhibition "Biodiversity.

Variety is the Mediterranean, promovidada by Caja Mediterráneo CAM project within the Natura.

The exhibition was inaugurated this morning by the Mayor, Miguel Angel House and Regional President Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martínez, and will last until 11 December in the garden located next to the Plaza de la Cruz Roja.

Each tent is the scene of an environmental issue: Conservation, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Mediterranean.

Overhead projection, audio-visual displays and help convey the main concept of the exhibition: help protect the environment and participate in its conservation through positive attitudes.

Natura CAM through a series of exhibitions, thus aims to contribute to the conservation of natural heritage and biodiversity proposals for outreach, education, training, research and participation.

Among the activities included in the proposed Natura CAM figure this exhibition, "Biodiversity.

Variety is the Mediterranean, "which emphasizes the plurality of existing plant and animal species in these ecosystems, severe weather conditions and the importance of conservation of sites and species to avoid extinction.

The exhibition highlights demonstrate how human intervention in the Mediterranean landscape has and had an influential role and their involvement may lead to a sustainable or, conversely, abuse or neglect of resources can be a threatening Mediterranean biodiversity, sometimes leading to extinction of species.

The Murcia will have the opportunity to delve into the uniqueness of Mediterranean ecosystems and the importance of respecting their biodiversity, as well as to help instill the conservation of plants, wildlife and natural environment.

Spain has one of the most important heritages of Europe and its diversity and conservation status so configured as a single space.

Many of the flagship species of the Mediterranean in Spain have their last strongholds, and share living space with other more common and widespread, though no less valuable in the mechanism of ecosystems.

In this context, degradation of the natural environment requires the search for solutions.
