The noise map does not receive any complaint during the period of public exhibition (23/10/2008)

Thus, only need final approval by the Governing Board for the Department of Environment and Urban Quality can begin to carry out various actions to combat or prevent noise pollution.

Also will create a working group to assist in the drafting and expansion of the various measures.

Some of these actions are:

Urban planning and construction:

● Information partial plans sound next to highways, freeways, arteries, high capacity, industrial sites, stations, airports, transportation centers, etc.

since the adoption of General Plan of Murcia in 2001.

● Requiring supplementary sound insulation required in the NBE-CA-88 in new buildings

located on streets that exceed the limits set by law since 2001 with the approval of General Plan of Murcia.

● Line of grants to increase the sound insulation in buildings located on existing streets where noise levels exceed set by the regulations.

Launched in 2002.

Through the Ordinance for Environmental Protection against the noise and vibration are established seven Special Areas of Environmental Protection (ZEPM) in the town of Murcia, where special measures are set to improve or preserve their sound quality.

Mobility:

● Installing sound-absorbing asphalt on the new traffic routes and those that are renewed.

● Control of noise levels for motor vehicles.

● Promotion of sustainable travel modes to the detriment of private cars.

The main measures envisaged in this field are:

● streets to pedestrian and establishment of restricted traffic zones.

To date it has 250,000 m 2 area

four areas of pedestrian and traffic restrictions.

● Renovation, expansion and protection of sidewalks and removal of architectural barriers.

Remember that now is working on the second phase of the noise map with the updated maps of 16 districts and for achieving the other 38.

Thus, the municipality has a powerful tool for environmental management, in addition to complying with European rules in Directive 2002/49/EC establishes the requirement that municipalities with more than 250,000 people develop their noise maps.
