Start the new season of Ramón Gaya Museum.

The main novelty is that the museum is the first of all municipal open also on Monday, to give more and better service to Murcia and visitors.

During the 2008/2009 season, the museum will host exhibitions such as 'The Painter in the box' and 'Muñoz Barberán, intimate', as well as a selection of works by sculptor Carmelo Pastor and the first solo exhibition of painter Francisco Fuentes .

It has also organized another exhibition called 'Ramon Gaya in the pages of ABC' which includes drawings, texts and interviews related to the artist appeared in the newspaper Murcia.

In addition to these exhibitions, this year there will be two exhibitions of Gaya outside the museum: a retrospective at the Cervantes Institute in Naples and one in the Cervantes Institute in Paris.

Activity 'Music to see in the museum' will be screened, penultimate Tuesday of each month, a selection of operas by Giuseppe Verdi, like I due Foscari, La Battaglia di Legnano, Rigoletto and Otello, among others.

Also this year will ring in the museum poetry.

For the fifteenth consecutive year the activity was organized 'Poetry in the Museum' with the participation Álvaro Valverde, Mariana Colomer, Frutos Soriano, José Luis Martínez Valero, Agustín Pérez-Leal, Manuel VilasVicente Valero, Vanesa Pérez-Sahuquillo and Vicente Luis Mora .

Another day indicated is the 18th birthday of the museum, which will be held on Friday 10 October with a concert featuring flamenco Rocío Márquez, winner of the 2008 Mining Lamp.

Five days later, on October 15 will mark the third anniversary of the death of Gaya and will be remembered with a performance by Duo Piantur.

The Christmas Concert will be performed by the Quartet Almus.

During this season will be continued in the painting classes for adults, workshops for children and adults in summer, the activity 'Grandpa, take me to the museum' and the Christmas season.

In relation to publications and this year is planned to edit a collection of texts on Gaya Tomás Segovia, and 'The paintings of the Seasons "with the collaboration of writers Jaime García-Máiquez, Andrew Neuman, Miguel Ángel Muñoz, José Toré Luis Gómez, José Rubio, Pascual Garcia, Abraham Grajera and Antonio Moreno.
