Fair September comes loaded with more than 150 acts (29/08/2008)

A total of 155 events set the agenda for the Feria de Murcia this year, the council of Festivals and Popular Culture, led by Rafael Gómez, has prepared for all audiences.

The Fair will start on Thursday 4 September with the introduction of magazine Moros y Cristianos, welcome to the Virgin, the opening of the VI Sample wine and food, the power of special lighting and the opening of the enclosure center of the FICA.

The September Fair 2008 brings some new features:

â— The Plaza of the Red Cross will be fully dedicated to children.

For four days, from 6 to 9 September, various children's activities held there.

To this is added the various parades and workshops for children will be developed throughout the Fair.

â— You have created the series 'Fair Chords', which consists of the performance of musical groups in the municipality in various squares and gardens.

â— The program of events has led, act by act, into English.

â— It has changed the location of holiday sharing program.

This year will be delivered on Wednesday, 10 to 13 and from 17 to 20 hours, in the Plaza José Esteve Mora (next to the Plaza de San Bartolomé) and in the garden of Gunpowder.

In total we have published 25,000 handbills, of which 4,000 are accompanied with a chopper bust created by sculptor Antonio Campillo.

â— The Folklore Festival will be held, as well as in different streets, squares and gardens of the city, in University Square, instead of in the Plaza de Santo Domingo as in previous years.

â— The traditional concert before the day of the pilgrimage moves from soccer field to the parking Algezares New Condomina shopping center.

â— For the first time we have organized a musical thirty of which only four are paid at an affordable price by a grant from City Hall.

The proclamation of the Fair will be read by Pedro Luis Sáez, dean of the College of Lawyers, brother to the Confraternity of the Blessed Christ of Forgiveness and the Holy Christ of Refuge, president of the Union of Professional Associations of the Region and Chief of the General Council Lawyers of Spain (Friday, 5, beginning at 20.30 hours) in the Meeting Room of City Hall.

The opening of the Pier Gardens is scheduled for 5 to 22 hours and remain open until 15 September, maintaining last year's prices.

During all those days will be held demonstrations of crafts and live music.

Murcia Day will take place on Sunday 14 September with free tastings, performances, Mass orchard and a giant cake for 3,000 people.

This day will culminate with the night Trovera, who is recovering after several years without a place, which will feature the Patiñero.

As 2008 is the year of the twentieth anniversary of the gardens, has dedicated a space on the Malecon to an exhibit on the origin and evolution of the orchards.

The XIV Cattle Fair opens on Sept. 4 and runs until Sunday 7 September.

The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, will be responsible for reading the proclamation of Moors and Christians in this issue.

Medieval Camp will open on September 8 while the representation of the commemoration of the founding of Murcia for Rahman II takes place on Sunday 14.

Murcia is filled with folk groups from different countries from day 8 following the opening of the XLI International Folklore Festival of the Mediterranean.

All participating groups will showcase their singing and dancing in the Plaza of the University on September 12, closing day of the festival.

For several days it will happen exhibitions, seminars and performances in different parts of the city.

The fair will begin on 9 bulls with a bullfight without horses and end on Sunday 21.

In addition to the bullfight in the arena of Condomina, the Murcia and visitors can enjoy the series 'Fair and bulls' with traditional snacks bullfighting, the exhibition 'Painting and Toros' in the Almudí.

Among the more than thirty musical performances, highlights the group's free concert Union to be held in a stressed scenario as the New Bridge.

This action will take place on 12, after 22 hours .-

The fairground attractions FICA will be operational until the close of the Fair, on 16 September.

The proceedings of the XIII Lemon 4 Pop begin Thursday and run until Saturday 13 September.
