The summer schools celebrate the International Year of Intercultural (25/08/2008)

One more year, the Cultural Centres in the municipality of Murcia has been received during the month of July traditional summer schools, where younger have been a number of activities focused especially in the awareness and education in values.

So, using that 2008 marks the International Year of Intercultural around, we have designed a series of activities aimed at cultural concept that is summarized in the peaceful coexistence of all people of different cultures that make up a society.

Cliocultural learning platform has been commissioned to develop an educational activity around this topic.

Being aware that children today have formed in an audiovisual ecosystem.

This activity has been focused on the realization of a cinema-forum, as explained Germain Carrillo, director of Cliocultural.

First, there was a presentation guidance to children about the practical meaning of the term multiculturalism, in which all have shown a much greater understanding than most adults.

After this first part of approach to the concept, introduced the film they would watch.

To this end, we resorted to French director Michel Ocelot, who has been doing for some years a brilliant film, with an important educational and sensitization.

His film Azur and Asmar is a fun puzzle adventure of two children, one French and one Moroccan, who despite being from very different cultures are able to be best friends and get to realize their dreams.

A film full of sensuality, with a full and colorful spreads the retina and a soundtrack mixing of French medieval music and the sensual rhythm of the Maghreb.

Like any well-done film-forum, after viewing the tape, children supplemented their knowledge about multiculturalism through an educational guide published by Cliocultural.

Her children were able to unravel the universe expertly showed them the film and understand that mixing and coexistence of cultures, provide infinite wealth.

They also commented that they had classmates who had come to the Region of Murcia from many places on the map (much of Latin America, Eastern Europe and Morocco).

Also told that they were very good friends and that they did not care what part of the world were "in the school play and learn together."
