Nearly 200 children attend the Summer School organized by Social Welfare (13/08/2008)

The councilman of Social Welfare, Gender Equality Policies and Citizenship, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, visited this morning the Comprehensive Center for Children and Reconciling Work and Family Life is located in Avenida Juan Carlos I.

There, children and adolescents between 3 and 16 are participating in the Summer School 2008, which ends Thursday.

In the school are different workshops intercultural related to commemorate the International Year of Biodiversity: building games and toys in the world, world music, making giant world map, legends, tales and curiosities of the continents, crafts, painting , gardening activities, planting, watering, championship games, chess, ludo, goose, ladies, pin pong, water games, cooperative, supportive, cultural outings Regional Library to participate in animation workshop reading with storytelling and puppets.

Have also made trips to Terra Natura Cala del Pino, La Manga del Mar Menor and pools.

The realization of this Summer School responds to the need for mothers and working parents, to have a public resource where they can be cared for their children, according to the principles of the law 39/99 of 5 November to promote reconciling work and family life of working people.

It was also intended that children and adolescents to perform a range of leisure and free time, participants developed in social relations, respect for others and the environment.

During the month of July was attended by 125 minors in August while 60 attended.
