Tomorrow the work begins to install the old Bell Hazards (29/07/2008)

The old Bell Dangers, a splendid piece donated by the City of Murcia in the second half of the seventeenth century, re-installed in the niche from which has witnessed the passage of centuries, the Old Bridge.

The siting of the piece will start tomorrow and is expected to be completed in a couple of weeks.

The restoration work has allowed the piece to adapt it to turn, so that at the next fair in September will receive the patron saint, the Virgen de la Fuensanta, when it comes to the city.

The bell, 35 inches in diameter and weighing 25 kilograms, was cast in the year 1684 and is inscribed with the following legend: "T DON FERNANDO DE LA MAYOR MAIOR RIBA 1684."

The piece remained in the custody of the Virgin Maid, Mrs. Hernández Pérez Hazards, heir of a series of Murcia for the care of the sacred height.

Hazards Hernández has welcomed the interest shown from the City of Murcia to recover part of the past of Murcia.

The age of the bell -324 years-and its enormous popularity are some of the characteristics that led to the city of Murcia to recover.
