The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pedro Alberto Cruz, this morning presented the exhibition "Floridablanca 1728-1808.

The reformist utopia ', which will be open from 18 September to 8 December in the Sala San Esteban and the Centro Cultural Las Claras de Murcia, and from 22 December to 22 February 2009 at the Academy of Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid.

Also attending the presentation of the exhibition the Councillor for Culture and Celebrations of the City of Murcia, Fátima Barnuevo, the Project Manager of the State Society for Cultural Commemorations (SECC), Carlota Álvarez Basso, the curator of the exhibition, Cristóbal Belda; and the director of the Foundation Cajamurcia, Jose Moreno.

The exhibition commemorates through drawings, documents, paintings, porcelain, books, jewelry and sculptures, the birth of the Count of Floridablanca, "one of the most compelling and complex history of both the Region of Murcia and Spain and is a symbol of enlightenment in our country, "said the counselor.

Cruz said his "multidisciplinary running over the format of the exhibition itself to also become a science project."

Also, remember political figure of Murcia through works of great artists like Goya, Batoni, Mengs, Ferro, Bayeu, Vergara, Houasse, Flaugiers and Giaquinto.

The exhibition is organized by the Autonomous Community of Murcia, through the ministries of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, through the State Society for Cultural Commemorations, the City Council, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, and Cajamurcia Foundation, through its Footprints Project, when this year marks the bicentenary of the death of José Sevilla Monino y Redondo, Conde de Floridablanca.
