The Consistory working on a project to promote access to housing of immigrants (09/07/2008)

Murcia City Council is working on a project to promote access to housing for immigrants.

The Governing Board today gave its approval to a grant of 200,000 euros for Rasinet Federation, which is responsible for facilitating the immigrant community the equal accessibility to decent housing.

Rasinet, which is formed by the Association Columbares Senegalese Association of the Region of Murcia, Murcia Welcomes Association and Federation of Neighborhood Associations and Consumers of the region, offers free home search to immigration either for rental or purchase.

It coordinates information between public and private entities in the field of housing and offers foreigners the opportunity, through its web www.rasinet.org of information and access to housing.

The Federation also welcomes immigrants in a timely manner for a period not exceeding three months in rental housing that has Rasinet.

The City has collaborated with the Federation Rasinet since launched in 2000.

Among the main activities planned are the creation of an accommodation to be rented by immigrants, advice on the handling, management and monitoring of the demand for housing, free legal advice, preparation of leases and sales, mediation and resolution conflict, participation in international immigration and offer financial aid for housing.

The beneficiaries of this project are immigrants from the town of Murcia.
