Development awards the project to expand a third lane on the section link Link Orihuela-Monteagudo of the A-7, in Murcia and Alicante (30/06/2008)

The Ministry of Development has awarded the joint venture company formed by TRN Engineering and Infrastructure Planning and Engineering CMD and Lazarus Sunday, the contract of consultancy and technical assistance for the drafting of the planned motorway A-7 to third lane expansion roadway between mile markers 741 and 757 +000 +000, Orihuela section link / Benferri-Link Monteagudo / Fortuna, in the provinces of Murcia and Alicante, with a budget allocation amounting to 1,287,924.70 euros.

The works planned are for the construction of a third lane carriageway on the stretch between KP 741 and KP 757 +000 +000 in the Mediterranean motorway A-7, in the provinces of Murcia and Alicante.

Technical Features:

The general conditions of the project are:

- The additional lanes will have a width of 3.50 m.

- The project will be coordinated with the study reported Murcia Alternative key Northwest EI-4-MU-18 and the highway connecting the A-7 motorway and Reguerón.

- It will maintain appropriate coordination with the State Highway Demarcation of the Community of Valencia.

- The project will include the study of rearrangement of existing access, especially between the link Santomera - Abanilla and Santomera rest area, and between the link and the Orihuela Orihuela - Benferri.

It is also necessary to examine the treatment of existing overpasses.

- Project Schedule included as a document "Environmental Analysis, which will identify, describe and assess environmental problems and which also will screen and assess the corrective measures deemed necessary.

- It will maintain the necessary coordination with the General Department of Conservation and exploitation in order to avoid duplication of local improvement projects for the section considered.

- Will be studied in detail the replacement of roads, trails, access, easements and departments concerned, including the actions deemed necessary for proper replacement.

- It will maintain good liaison with Local Authorities, Chambers of Agriculture, River Basin and other entities and institutions that might be affected or that may provide useful information for the preparation of the project.

- In order to help improve road safety for cyclists and in accordance with the objectives and guidelines of the Strategic Infrastructure and Transport (PEIT), will discuss the compatibility of the project activities to the uses cyclists who may come in conflict with them.

- The surrounding properties will not have direct access to roads of the road.

- To facilitate subsequent traffic data collection, the project will include installation of a gauging station set at KP 752 +000 or so.
