Youth Art Laboratory (LAB) is hosting morning (at 20:30 pm in the headquarters of the LAB, Balearic Islands plaza, corner of Calle Maria Zambrano) a parade of young artists by the students of the Third Promotion of Higher Education Fashion Design in collaboration with students of the Higher Level Training Course in Artistic Photography School of Art and Design of Murcia, which perform the staging.
The conceptual basis with which they worked the winner of the National New and young Spanish designer Elizabeth Navarro (Molina de Segura, 1985), and a finalist for the Young Designers Contest 2008 Spanish Murcia Jennifer Enriquez (Almería, 1986), abounds in the figure and myth of the Fates, mythological beings executing the mission was to fulfill the destiny of men.
The Fates were portrayed as three spinners measuring the life of every human being from birth to death, representing the destination under the influence of his will.
The destination is symbolized as a wool yarn that the first of the Fates spun, the second winding and the third cut.
Allegorically time, destination and duration are evident in this allegorical myth.
Thus, the collection is inspired by Greek myths related to female textile and Arachne, condemned to weave for eternity into a spider, Penelope, melted at night what she wove during the day, Dido, which by thin strips of skin succeeded in delineating the extent of Carthage and become his queen, Athena, goddess of the Arts and Crafts, spinners and bordaderas protective, or Ariadne, who helped Theseus to leave the Labyrinth unrolling a ball of wool.
The collection consists of 24 'looks' developed during the final draft of the formation of these young designers.
