Reply to Esther Herguedas José Ros (IU) regarding the motion on the landfill of Cañada Hermosa (26/06/2008)

Transcribed, then the note in full.

This note is in response to a motion presented by IU .

"I'm surprised, SRA. Herguera, who have not visited the plant, and without having carried out any investigation, has given credence to a totally false allegations, as part of a smear campaign against the work of the City and people that develop.

I checked and I am convinced of the good work being done at the plant Cañada Hermosa.

I am ready day and time you want to visit the plant, together with the media and see if anything is wrong.

BELIEVE known that the introduction of separate collection has been "zero cost" for citizens, as any investment:

Vehicles and containers: 3 million €.

Plant Selection: 1.6 million €.

have run on behalf of the contractor, which finances its services revenue from supplying products to Ecoembes and others.

I understand that this scheme work, the first interested in recycling would be the company, because larger amounts of recycled materials, more profit.

I suggest you check the legal situation to complaints about the plant.

See that even today there is no adverse judgments against the City.

And here, of quiet, nothing.

We work every day and getting better every day.

Every year are:

More investment.

Increased services.

Extensions: 872 puntos/500 inhabitants.

And above all, Info and awareness campaigns.

And finally, if you have evidence, and verifiable, please report them formally in my Department, for once, technicians, scrutinize, would verify and certify whether they are real.

Since I am responsible for the Glen Hermosa Plant, there has been no formal complaint.

Nor any environmental group, none has been directed to the City Council, Alderman or Councillor to report anomalies.

It is totally false, that are received at the plant, hazardous waste.

NOT ONE.

Hospital remains are received, processed in other plants and are documented with their cargo.

With regard to industrial waste, yes, but those treated as municipal waste and are valued at the source.

Example: Department Stores. "
