Izquierda Unida Los Verdes Murcia + submitted to the plenary session next Thursday, June 26, a motion urging the council to facilitate the use of space dependent on the Department of Culture and Celebration associations and citizen groups.
This was announced today the mayor of the leftist coalition, Esther Herguedas, who referred to "difficulties" faced by groups by the municipality at the time of making use of the premises "under the pretext that they are reserved for exclusive realization of activities. "
Herguedas said that the city of Murcia has the "duty" to "assist and promote activities to civic organizations," but explained that "since the arrival of the new Councillor for Culture is hampering the use of these premises."
In this sense, as an example the hall of the Palace of Almudí, formerly used for carrying out numerous activities, and whose use is now "restricted" to the events scheduled by that council.
He stressed that IU + Greens "want it to be easy for any association or group of citizens to access these facilities, from the belief that they belong to the council, but to all citizens that their tax claims."
In his motion, also asked Herguedas streamlining procedures for the use of these spaces and the creation of a schedule that includes the activities planned for the public to know in advance the days that can be used.
