The districts receive an injection of 13 million to improve the quality of life (18/06/2008)

The districts of the municipality of Murcia will receive an investment of over 13.1 million euros, to be shared among 82 works projects to be implemented between 2008 and 2009, thanks to an agreement between the Autonomous Community and the City of districts and neighborhoods Funds Peripherals that have signed this morning by the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel.

The aim in this agreement is to achieve for people who live in districts a higher quality of life by making precise works that promote the improvement.

The agreement will continue growing on more and better services in both quality and quantity.

In his speech, the Mayor stressed the satisfaction that "we have a regional government and a president who meets the commitments acquired in this case, helping the financing of municipalities and at the same time, encourage and increase efforts to improve basic infrastructure of our towns. "

House also stressed that the signing of this agreement comes at a time of major economic crisis and "the government are making an effort to maintain the vitality of economic activity as a means to support and further enhance employment and prosperity and quality of life. "

The Mayor has also assured that, given the "lack of initiative of the Government of the Nation, the Regional Government and local councils are obliged to supply overtaking and supplanting public initiatives to continue to support economic activity.

The actions foreseen in the agreement, which will begin to develop in the coming months, are very varied nature, ranging from lighting, paving and irrigation ditches trussed up places remodeling, construction or expansion of municipal facilities.

The works will involve a total investment of 13.1 million euros, of which 11.8 will be provided by the Autonomous Community and the rest, 1.3, by the City.

In general the agreement signed today allows:

Paving and asphalting of streets and roads, 42 projects amounting to 6 million euros.

Lighting: 17 projects with a budget of 1,594,752 euros.

Reshaping urban areas of districts: 6 actions amounting to 1,138,209 euros.

Trussed and piping of ditches: 6 projects and cost 934,000 euros.

Renovations of plazas and gardens: 7 projects with a budget of 923,000 euros.

As unique performances include the redevelopment of the third lane of South Round, from the A 30 until Avenida de Los Dolores, which amount to 1.9 billion euros.

Also carried out 6 unique projects in the urban redevelopment of La Alberca, Espinardo, Guadalupe, Javalí Viejo, the strut and the pains, the latter two using the pavement.

Also perform the conditioning of the municipal center environment and Zaraíche Santiago and Paseo de las Adelfas of Torreagüera.

On the other hand, there will be paving of roadways and sidewalks, worth more than 6 million in a total of 42 different projects.

A budget of 1.6 million euros will be allocated to improve lighting on roads and streets in the districts through the implementation of 17 projects.

In The Esparragal 342,000 euros will be allocated for strengthening and improving the lighting of the town and Sangonera La Seca 445,000 euros will be spent with the same objective.

Among the planned improvements is also Bending or piping of ditches in 6 districts: Stables (Carcanox) Beniaján (Noon), Casillas (Azarbe Anquijanes), tall (Almohajar), El Palmar (Turbedal) and Zarandona (Azarbe).

For these jobs are allocated 934,000 euros.

The list of projects completed with the construction of a community center in San Pedro Canadas at the head of the Plata, which is planned investment of 375,000 euros.

3 million for current expenditure

Also, the Mayor and the President of the Autonomous Region have signed another cooperation agreement designed, in this case, the maintenance of current spending that faces City Hall.

In this case, the grant, amounting to 2,922,842 euros, will aim to service garbage collection, water supply and sewerage, and the maintenance of public lighting, roads and parks and gardens well as social grants for urban transport.
