The Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration funded two million euros in building new Towers Cabezo Promotion Center for Independence of the Disabled Staff FUNDOWN intellectuals, whose foundation stone laid this afternoon the head of independent department, Joaquín Bascuñana .
The center, which is a pioneer in your area at European level, consist of two separate buildings with 12 residential apartment for three people each, a block of a plant to classroom learning and authorization, and a third room multipurpose, library, computer room and customer service area.
This project aims to support Fundown initiative called "School of Life ', which consists in living in standard housing, two or three people with learning disabilities and two mediators.
This will provide the necessary infrastructure to train 50 youth in self mentally handicapped, guiding them to independent living.
Takes account for a few hours for those still not willing or wanting to leave the family home to enter a supervised or independent housing.
As for shared housing, consisting basically of coexistence among 36 youth with and without disabilities, for modules like student housing, equal, from a normalizing of difference, according to the normal patterns of autonomy and independence of any adult.
Regarding the cost of the project amounts to 4,523,609 euros, including the value of the land, of nearly 6,000 m2, on loan from City Hall (986 750), and providing Fundown, 1,530,858 euros.
At the official ceremony of laying the first stone was also attended by the managing director of the Institute of Social Action Murciano, Miguel Angel Miranda, director general of People with Disabilities, Marisol Morente, the president of Fundown, Peter Otto, and the town council Murcia, Maruja Pelegrin.
