At least this is the ultimate goal pursued by the Local Education Competition Road Accident Prevention and this school year held its nineteenth edition.
The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, presided this morning the ceremony of the awards to the winners.
The event, held at the Plenary Hall, was attended by the Councillor for Education and Personal Safety and Traffic, Pilar Megía and Nuria Fuentes, respectively.
The convocation, part of the driver education program, is aimed at students of 3 rd year of secondary education compulsory Murcia, who are younger drivers of public roads and therefore, the population in which more is to have an effect when is prevention.
Since most accidents are caused by carelessness and breach of traffic regulations, education is one of the most important and effective way in preventing it.
The Local Education Competition XIX Road Accident Prevention and counted with the participation of 3,094 students from 39 schools in the municipality.
The tournament began last February and concluded on 9 May.
During this time, the students have had to overcome multiple-choice tests on standards and road traffic signals and first aid.
Thus, completed the 1st phase, conducted during February and March, which ended with the intervention of 3094 students from 39 schools selected by each of the 119 students participating classrooms to obtain more than 80 points.
The second phase was held on 15 March in the auditorium of the local police, which brought together 119 teams from 16 secondary schools and 23 secondary schools agreed, which involved the assistance of 357 students.
The third and final phase took place on 9 May.
She agreed 10 teams with 30 students who achieved the required score in the second phase.

For the celebration of the XIX edition of the competition, the city has enjoyed the cooperation of companies and organizations: Murtrafic, Honda-Rieju, CAM, Motomura, Párraga Electronics, Photo Lab Leo, Azarbe, Novograf, Cajamar Marvimundo, and Repsol Mabelia .
