Have fun at school during the month of July (13/06/2008)

A total of 31 municipal summer schools organized by the Department of Quality and Modernization of the Administration, Events and Popular Culture, led by Rafael Gomez will accommodate nearly 1,700 schools to leisure activities and free time in the month of July.

As in previous years, the council carried out 27 schools, more activities in 3 schools and a program of workshops for youth, for a total of 31 summer schools.

The registration period is from 16 to 20 June, in time of 17-21 hours in each school.

The planned spending amounts to 125,000 euros.

The offer amounts to 1,690 seats.

Of these, 425 responded to a joint working approach with the Department of Social Welfare.

In general, in these schools, boys and girls born between 1996 to 2001 inclusive, will enjoy these activities, which take place from 1 to 18 July 1910 to 13 hours.

Another year, collaborating in the organization of these schools the Department of Environment and Urban Quality (with the support for all schools to monitor and experts in environmental education), Education and Personal (use of public schools) and Sport (use of pools).

In addition, a large group of municipal boards and District Boards cooperate by providing financial resources, especially in the management of buses and excursions.

For its part, the Department of Environment and Urban Quality, which provides 1,350 hours of instructors, experts in environmental education.

In this year, the Summer Schools of the City of Murcia intend to hold the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, with photo exhibitions which include the cultural diversity of our neighborhoods and districts.

The summer school program closes with a group exhibition about the diversity on 16,17 and 18 July in the exhibition hall of the Municipal Centre of El Carmen.

The activities will aim to:

1 .- To enable the leisure activities in leisure time of children during the summer.

2 .- To promote attitudes of tolerance and solidarity among children.

3 .- To facilitate the participation and collaboration among children.

4 .- Promote technical training workshops and activities that can be applied later in the summer leisure.

5 .- Promote the gaming aspects.

6 .- Recognize cultural diversity and promoting understanding

In general, be linked to the Environment, Arts, Cooking, Sports, Movies, Theatre, Dance, Dance and Comic.

The most common contents of the Summer School program will include activities and workshops related to the environment, theater, dance, visual arts, circus, ornaments, sports, movies, comics, puppetry, journalism, diversity, and outings and trips to Terra Natura , Fuentes del Marqués, Cartagena, CEMACAM, down by the River Segura, Ice Skating in Elche, and visits to the Aquarium of the university or museum.

And this year, schools will join in celebrating the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, with the participation of all children attending summer schools in articles and photo exhibitions on cultural diversity, on 16, 17 and 18 July in all the cultural centers and in the exhibition hall of El Carmen.

Summary of contents and activities to be undertaken:

ENVIRONMENT: Urban ecology, recycling, nature classrooms.

SPORTS: Sports Games, alternative sports, swimming pools.

ARTS: Ceramics, painting, murals, etc.

KITCHEN: Cooking Workshops cold, ice, etc..

DANCE AND DANCE AND THEATRE: dance workshops and dances in the world, plays, etc.

Reading Promotion: Workshop of reading and creating stories.

GAMES: cultural Gymkhana, games in the world, cooperative ...

CRAFTS: Workshop of cardboard, magnets, t-shirt painting.

PHOTO: Workshops and reports on diversity.

COMPUTERS: Basic Computer Workshops

FILM: Screenings of children's films, etc.

Trips and Excursions Horseback riding, Terra Natura, El Valle, Moratalla, down the river Segura, Elche Ice Skating, Fuentes del Marqués, canoeing, etc.
