Expert Israel and Europe debate tomorrow on Water and Climate Change in the Third International Workshop on Water Saving (11/06/2008)

Israel's leading experts from Europe and will compete tomorrow (at 10:00 pm in the Auditorium Víctor Villegas, Murcia) in the Third International Workshop on Water Saving 'Water and Climate Change', organized by the Public Entity for Water ( EPA), an agency under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, which will address the challenges posed by climate change and water scarcity.

The sessions, which will be opened by the manager of the Public Entity for Water, Amalio Garrido, addressed different aspects of technologies and management in saving water in daily habits and the challenges of scarcity, water conservation and saving under climate change.

The aim of this Third International Conference is to meet and exchange experiences between institutions and areas of activity and review various patterns to the responsible use of water resources, all awareness of the importance of better utilization and conservation of water.

In addition, as part of this event, a total of 18 companies related to this subject will present the latest in technology and management of available water resources in national and international markets for higher eco-efficiency and water savings.

The day will be divided into three sessions: 'Water Conservation and adaptation to climate change', 'Water Conservation Strategies' and' Experience in implementation of strategies and water conservation savings. "

They will participate among other speakers, MEP and President of the European Parliamentary Committee on Water and Climate Change, Cristina Gutiérrez-Cortines, the director of the Unit for Environmental Technologies and Pollution Prevention of the European Union, Andrea Tilche, Freddy Dekkers of European Water Partnership and the President of Mekorot (National Water Company of Israel), Eli Ronen.

The Region of Murcia, through Law 6 / 2006 on increased saving and conservation measures on water consumption has been the first region in Europe to establish mandatory requirements in this area, to assist in the maintenance of consumption levels of human activities under controlled limits, and promote development-saving devices and practices of conservation and wise use of water resources.
