The young creators assume the role of the Gateway Open (10/04/2008)

This seventh edition continues to force the commitment to less commercial fashion, while still establishing itself as an alternative to conventional meetings

Open will showcase the latest creations Potipoti, Sin Patron, Peter and the Wolf, Manuel Bolaño and Gori de Palma

Next week, the 18th and 19th April, will be held in the annexe Víctor Villegas Auditorium of Murcia, the new edition of Pasarela Abierta, a meeting organized by emerging designers Murcia XXI Foundation, Design and Fashion.

In this event, the seventh since it was launched in 2002 - will continue betting on young talent dotting their collections with a high creative value.

Open Fashion draws a contemporary and dynamic alternative to conventional games.

New materials technology and the catwalk wearing colorful designs and cutting edge.

Potipoti, Sin Patron, Peter and the Wolf, Manuel Bolaño and Gori de Palma are the protagonists of this seventh edition, which continues with a clear commitment to the hallmarks of new wave, young designers and the fashion area of less commercial.

In its seven editions have been involved in 63 gateway designers

In addition, since its inception Open wanted to pay special attention to young artists from Murcia.

Thus, Pedro García (Peter and the Wolf) represents the first group of designers from the School of Art and Design in Murcia, while Ideas Store library show "The other and us," produced by 9 young Murcia.

Similarly, the final year projects of students in the School of Fashion Murcia may be seen in an exhibition in the Auditorium.

Potipoti

This curious Berlin-based company formed from the mixing Salamanca 2005, two work as fashion designers and other visual creations graphic design, with its own atmosphere in which no shortage of fantastic animals.

Fairs have gone through as important as the Ego de Cibeles (Madrid), Bread and Butter (BCN / Berlin) or the Mustang Fashion Weekend FIB Heineken.

No Pattern

Since its debut in 2004 on the catwalk Drowsiness, its Baroque style, military and skirts for children have gone through the Ego de Cibeles (Madrid), Fashion Week Vitoria, Mid-e (San Sebastian), Creammoda (Bilbao) Mustang Fashion Weekend or FIB Heineken, where he earned the award in 2006.

Peter and the Wolf

Pedro Garcia, alter ego of Peter and the Wolf, belongs to the first group of designers from the School of Art and Design in Murcia.

Structured volumes led him to get the novel design award at last year's Mustang Fashion Weekend (FIB Heineken), his first collection: "Instrumental."

Pasarela Abierta show its expected second proposal.

Manuel Bolaño

This was released in Barcelona at the "Idea Store" in the last edition of Pasarela Abierta, which now will debut its first individual collection.

He's been through events like the Young Creators of Madrid, where he won the first prize.

Gori de Palma

Gori de Palma has a style influenced by punk, rock and roll and other movements like bondage or S / M, significantly marking the aesthetics of their creations.

In Open presented to his trilogy devoted to black with the third collection, "Fallen Woman."

Gori has also collaborated with artists like Glamour to Kill or Manuel Albarran and won several awards as MerkaFAD (Bilbao) or Art Jove 2005 (Mallorca).

The programming is complemented by the collective parade, Idea Warehouse, where they will show the top five entries from design students from the main national schools.

Among them a group of 9 young Murcia with his collection "The others and ourselves" and Elisabeth Navarro.

Also will Beltrán Landreau and Karlotalaspalas Felicidad Duce school in Barcelona.

Parallel activities

1 .- Retrospective Exhibition of the hat designer Mabel Sanz.

2.-Exhibition of the winning entries and a selection of the best in the National Design Award Bored No (this seventh edition devoted to hats)

The winner and the third prize of this contest have won two in Murcia (Ana Sanchez and Carmen Lopez. The second award is for the Catalan Beatriz Lozano, winner last year of this contest)

3.-Exposure of the best final projects of students in fashion and jewelry from the Fashion School of Murcia.

4 .- The European Institute of Design in Madrid issued a prize of a scholarship for a postgraduate course in this institute the best designer chosen from among students who spend Ideas Store.

5 .- La Escuela de Barcelona Felicidad Duce given a scholarship for a summer course in 2008 or one of the specialization courses offered in 2009.

6.-Celebration of two panel discussions on fashion:

+ Friday 18 at 17.00 h: With the presence designers Francis Montesinos, Ion Fiz and Oscar Shocking, as well as Roger Salas, fashion editor of the newspaper El Pais.

+ Saturday 19 to 17'00h: Speakers journalists from magazines fashion trends, including Neo 2 and Vanity, and the newspaper El Mundo (Sara Sáez), together with the participation of actress Marian Aguilera (currently involved in the series "Los hombres de Paco").
