The Murcia Tres Culturas Festival, open to the music and the arts in the world, reached its ninth edition become one of the most important events of the national cultural scene.
Under the theme "tolerance" and for the purpose of building a bridge between East and West, the Festival will take another year, come May, squares, streets and locations most emblematic of the city of Murcia, to demonstrate it is possible to reconcile ideas and religions through music, dance and speech.
The poster of this ninth edition, that its opening will have the premiere in Spain of "Fire of Anatolia" by "The Sultans of the Dance", the first and largest dance company in Turkey, including artists and groups Turkey, Tibet, Uruguay, Algeria, United Kingdom, Argentina, Canada, Armenia, Ivory Coast, India, Iraq, Belgium, Israel, Tunisia, Austria, France, Ireland, Germany, Morocco, Bulgaria, Sudan, United States, Egypt, Serbia, Mozambique, Poland, Cuba and Spain who converted to Murcia at a crossroads of cultures and an example of respect and tolerance.
For the first time the Festival will focus its programming in ten days, distributed mostly on weekends, so they too can attend the activities provided for visitors from out of town.
Will be ten days of intense cultural activity in which you can enjoy an intense cultural program will travel from the Buddhist mantras, the personal voice and piano by Wim Mertens, passing by the sounds of sitar and tabla, the lute, the dances of the dervishes, or more contemporary klezmer.
24 hour party with 24 concerts
For the fourth consecutive year, will celebrate the Feast of the Three Cultures, a display of music, dance and rhythm that will flood the city.
This year, as a novelty, this great festival will last 24 hours from 20 pm on Friday 23 May at 22.30 am on Saturday, May 24, and will involve 24 artists and musical groups and held 24 concerts.
To close this Ninth Edition will have Diego "El Cigala", an artist with a unique ability to take two universal music such as flamenco and Latin rhythms, the sounds make beats and break down barriers.
In his concert Belluga Square will include, inter alia, two greats of Cuban music: the pianist Guillermo Rubalcaba, 84, and percussionist Tata Guines, 81.
The film also has a role in this festival.
This year has scheduled a series under the title "Film Three Cultures", to be held at the Centro Municipal Puertas de Castilla and which will screen a broad sample of Turkish cinema, Israeli, Italian and English.
Celebrate as well, and the collaboration with the University of Murcia, a course titled "The Imaginary of the Three Cultures," in which experts from all over Spain.
The Festival reserves a role in this issue to the theater, organized with the indispensable collaboration of the School of Dramatic Art.
The series will enjoy the performance of "Mr. Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Koran," a hymn to tolerance, friendship and understanding between religions and cultures, and the regional premiere of "clandestine" about the characters staged according to tradition, the birth of Christianity as an ideological trend.
Rounding out the schedule for this ninth edition of an exhibition at the Mills River painter born in Tangier Antonio Fuentes and an exhibition at the Museum of the City of archaeological materials extracted during 1984 and 1985 of several solar street Murcia San Nicolas.
