Open to traffic the next installment of Prince of Asturias joining Juan Carlos I Juan de Borbón (11/04/2008)

The Planning Department has already opened to traffic on extended stretch of the avenue linking the Prince of Asturias Juan Carlos I (versus Zigzag) with Juan de Borbón.

The new section is 815 meters long, two lanes of 3.5 meters wide central median separation of 1.65 meters, 0.50 meters berms, lateral median of 1.50 meters and service tracks 4 m wide.

In addition, the Avenue has parking and sidewalks line 5 meters for pedestrians can move comfortably.

Urbanism has undertaken the expansion of this road, which previously had one lane in each direction, and is working on the second installment of Prince of Asturias, Juan de Borbón linking with Miguel Indurain.

The total length of this road is of 1,705 meters.

The section was opened to traffic has been in evidence during Easter and Spring Festival.

For optimum operation of the highway has been studied in detail the traffic light regulation of the intersections of Avenida Juan Carlos I Juan de Borbón.

Avenue Prince of Asturias has the capacity for 40,000 vehicles a day moving much higher than the 12,500 vehicles are expected to climb them every day.

In addition, taking advantage of road works has been placed under the road a great collector of reinforced concrete six feet in diameter to collect the rainwater and wastewater from the northern Prince of Asturias and transported to the main sewer that runs through Avenida Miguel Indurain.

The budget for this work is about one million euros.
