A team of eleven professionals working to finalize the basic design of the first phase of West Park, located between the Pier and the Purisima-Barriomar, which has designed renowned architect Toyo Ito Korean.
The architect Toyo Ito and representative in the Levant, Antonio Marquez, met this morning with the Town Planning Councillor, Fernando Berberena, to report the status of the project.
This first phase of the large park will measure approximately 40,000 square meters and is divided into three zones, one in the park and ride next to the Malecon, the other across the river and the last with Marist.
The design involves a multidisciplinary team of eleven professionals, including architects are four Japanese, two Spanish architects, a civil engineer, a surveyor, a biologist, a botanist and a hydraulic engineer.
The first phase will feature a pedestrian walkway and bicycle path that crosses the river and which will work with Toyo Ito, the famous Catalan architect Obiol Agustí.
In addition, this area will create circles of water, which should be characteristic of the park, which will have closed circuit as the source.
Will be created around different areas with different vegetation where people can walk, relax and even see a performance as this first phase has a small auditorium.
West Park will occupy an area of 300,000 square meters and will be developed in four phases.
