An agreement between the Council and the Directorate General of books, archives and libraries of the Ministry of Culture will allow users to consult the Municipal Archives in digital format all publications published between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.
This initiative is part of the projects that the ministry, in collaboration with other government authorities, executed with the objective of creating digital resources from the bibliographic treatment scan and print publications.
The aim with the digitization of these documents is to improve access, facilitate consultation and preserve library collections.
Remember that the Municipal Archives has been working on the digitization of publications since 2002 and has already been created by Digital Newspaper Library which are available digitally more than 800,000 pages from 111 different publications.
