Urban remember that there is a deadline of January 31, 2009 to legalize housing and illegal activities (23/04/2008)

The Planning Department has published brochures to inform the public of the period is still open for the legalization of houses, buildings and activities.

All citizens to own a home, garage or other illegal activities have until the 31st of January 2009 to legalize it.

After the end of that period there will be no legalization.

Urbanism has undertaken this initiative to comply with the agreements made by local political groups and in collaboration with the College of Architects, the Association of Technical Architects of the Region, the College and Association of Industrial Engineers and Official College of Industrial Engineers.

The aim is to spread among the population of the period opened for the legalization of property.

The Town Planning Councillor, Fernando Berberena, commented that "the government team is committed to meeting the legal maximum," and recalled that in recent years have held meetings on this issue in the municipal councils of the villages and neighborhoods.

The General Urban Plan of the Municipality, which was adopted in January 2001, provided for a transitional rule allowing the legalization of illegal buildings in a period of five years.

After the deadline, Urban found that many homes that had the requirements had not been legalized and turned to extend the deadline until January 31, 2009.

The City Council has produced a brochure explaining the documents necessary for the legalization of housing and activities.

The brochure can be found in urban planning in professional associations and municipal boards of neighborhoods and districts.
