Hundreds of schoolchildren in the municipality of Murcia are visiting during the second quarter of the farm "The Porches", one of the natural areas in the Murcia Region with the highest global density Eagle Owl.
This environmental education program is being carried out with the cooperation of the Neighborhood Association for Sustainable Development of El Garruchal (ADESGA) with the city of Murcia, in particular through the Department of Education and crew, who heads Megía Pilar.
This activity is part of a comprehensive educational program carried out throughout the course in the municipality of Murcia.
The farm "The Porches" is municipally owned and is located in the village of Cañada de San Pedro, within the Area of Special Protection Areas (SPA), Monte Valley and Sierra de Altaona and Escalona.
This area of Natura 2000 is an extraordinary ecological value because it includes the greatest number of owls from around the world and that is the area of spreading the eagle, the bird of prey at greater risk of extinction in the Region Murcia.
The farm has a size of 22.5 hectares and is well marked by indicators of the values of the area and its rich fauna and flora.
The visits are aimed at primary school in the municipality of Murcia.
Younger know the importance of place and the peculiarities of this important protected area through a number of routes and guided tours of the farm.
