About 200 courses to improve training and health of women in the municipality (13/05/2008)

The Department of Social Welfare, Gender Equality Policies and Citizenship, directed by Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, offers about 200 free courses to improve training and health of women in the municipality.

The courses cover the areas of education, health promotion, promotion of reading and access to new technologies with the aim of promoting equal opportunities between genders, social and cultural promotion of women, preparation for employment, strengthening self-esteem and promoting women's health.

These courses are conducted in the 72 Centers for Women of the municipality and 15 women's associations as spaces are training and encouraging the participation of women in all spheres of public life.

These activities are aimed at the 24,000 women members of Women's Centres and will benefit about 4,500 women courses, receiving about 3,000 hours of training.

The courses are free and registration is to go to the Women's Center or neighborhood association or parish.

Training courses

Its objectives include improving the training of women and facilitate their access to employment.

The courses will be taught: computer, laughter therapy, English, self-esteem, clinical assistant, seminar equality, environmental education, introduction to the arts, introduction to science, intellectual skills, care assistant elderly and geriatrics.

New this year has introduced a course in DIY home to women gain practical knowledge of plumbing, electrical, masonry, painting, carpentry and home installations.

This course will take 20 hours and will be held at: Barriomar, Ermita de Burgos, Gea and Truyols, Puebla de Soto, The Fleet, Infante, El Ranero, San Ginés, St. Pius X Catholic Separate Women's Association, Los Dolores, New boar, Rincon de Seca, Santa Eulalia, Santa María de Gracia, Pedriñanes, Santiago el Mayor, El Palmar, District Centre, Zeneta, La Raya, Espinardo, Vistalegre Lobosillo and Casillas.

Health Promotion

The objectives of these courses is to recognize and accept the specificity of the physiology of women to meet their physical and health needs specifically.

Activities increased demand among women are the preventive physical therapy aimed at preventing musculoskeletal disorders and posture, prevent osteoporosis and rheumatic problems, prevent nuisances and conditions related to the genito-urinary system and learn competences to improve certain aspects of health.

The workshops will be taught are related to reflexology, self-massage, healthy posture and postural education.

National Day of nutrition

This activity, organized by the Department of Health and Human Services, aims to make women aware of the influence of excess weight on health, learn how to lose weight without losing health and weight loss diets differ unbalanced.

This is a workshop with two sessions of one hour each, given by a healthcare professional.

The title of the talk is: "Your diet is your life Take care!

There are no miracle diets. "

This workshop will be held at Women's Centres and Truyols Gea, Abenarabi, La Alberca, Cobatillas, Santa Eulalia, Barriomar, Barrio del Carmen, Santo Angel, La Raya, El Raal, and Aljucer Espinardo.

Reading Workshop

Being developed in the women's centers in collaboration with the Regional Association of Friends Murciana Reading since 2003.

The objective is women's access to culture through animation and motivation toward reading, knowledge and enjoyment of literary works.

This is one session a week for one hour for a group of 10 to 15 members.

It develops in the center: Ronda Norte, Santiago el Mayor, The Fleet, The Arboleja, La Paz, Vistabella, La Fama, Abenarabi, City Center, Association of Catholic Women Separated, Widows Association Barriomar and housed.

Access to new technologies

It aims to bring women new technologies for personal use and provide Centres and Associations of an application that allows them to manage the Centre from a computer.

This project is in collaboration with the Department of Administration Modernization.
