Contracts up to 7,300 people and low unemployment 9.5% in Murcia in 2015 (29/01/2016)

Membership of the Social Security increased by 7,294 people in Murcia in 2015. The creation of new jobs allowed to increase the number of entries of 183,439 at the end of 2014 to 190,733 on 31 December, according to data from the Labour Force Survey.

This is an increase of 4%, similar to the average for the region and more than 3% recorded in the whole of Spain percentage.

Just as the numbers of affiliation to social security were positive in the village in 2015, data are also unemployed, which fell by 3,885 people, from 41,120 in 2014 to 37,235 unemployed a year later.

This decline stands at 9.5%, higher than at the national level, which was 8%, but did not reach 10% of the autonomous region.

These figures "represent a relief to more than 3,800 people found jobs in the last twelve months and, objectively, is a good thing", praised Jesus Pacheco, Councillor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, who also believes that this is a statistics that can help "enhance our confidence that it is possible to consolidate this positive trend."

Faced with increases in unemployment close to 10% that were registered in the city, the region and the country in previous years, "now jobs are built, not destroyed, and it is important to consider," said Pacheco, who also said that "being an excellent result that 2015 ended with fewer people unemployed than 2014, will not be satisfied as long as Murcia looking occupation," concluded Pacheco.
