Most victims of domestic violence are men, middle class, descendants of his attackers, and mothers under 60 assaulted by their children, according to the conclusions of the doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Medicine of the University Murcia by Jose Manuel Alarte Garvi.
The study, which has obtained excellent cum laude, indicates that the attacks by domestic violence are both physical and psychological, the most serious being that result from domestic violence, to the point that record seven times more hospital admissions .
This research takes into account data from a sample of 465 patients who received care in the emergency department of a hospital between November 2011 and May 2015.
A total of 525 assists were detected by violence in the home, violence against women constitute 68 percent of cases.
The doctoral thesis was supervised by professors from the University of Murcia Aurelio Moon and Maria Dolores Perez Prison.
