UCAM chefs recreate the Mar Menor to support the tourism sector in the region (21/01/2016)

The chef Pablo González-Conejero and chocolatier, Tino Helguera, teachers and members of the Advisory Board of the Degree in Gastronomy of the UCAM, with the collaboration of the CST, with several students have created a reproduction of the Mar Menor with products Region Tourism in Murcia stand in the International Tourism Fair

The degree in Gastronomy of the Catholic University of Murcia attended Thursday at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, to enhance tourism in the Region of Murcia, Murcia thanks to Food, on the day of the Region the international fair.

From the UCAM have moved several students of the Degree with the chef and teacher, Paul Gomez, who have joined in FITUR to Murcia 1 Michelin star chef and 3 Soles Repsol, Pablo González-Conejero, owner of The Cottage Restaurant Finca Buenavista, and master chocolatier, Tino Helguera.

Both guests belong to the Advisory Board of the Degree in Gastronomy of the Catholic University of Murcia with the collaboration of Tourism Qualification Center (CCT).

Between the two, and accompanied by Pablo Gómez, and students of the Degree in Gastronomy, they have created a reproduction of the Mar Menor on a tray of food steel, working in a cold kitchen table and using food characteristic of the region.

To recreate the water, Gonzalez-Conejero has chosen to use bread crumbs tinted blue to simulate the Mar Menor.

Meanwhile, inside the estrucutra they have left the fruits, such as salted meats, seafood, so characteristic of the Murcian cuisine.

For its part, the sweet touch Tino Helguera has given with the help of students, with a sculpture of Faro Cabo de Palos white chocolate 1 meter tall, representing differently this icon of the coastal zone.

Dining representations have been finished in time for the arrival at the stand of President of the Community, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, who was the first to taste 'The Mar Menor Gastronomic'.

All materials needed for the Degree in Gastronomy UCAM has had the help of sponsors of the Region of Murcia, not only food group, such as Salt Garre, Panasa, Cacao Barry and Makro, but also the travel agency Beech Travel, Latbus and Versatile.
