The Pavilion 2 Artillery Barracks becomes, for the first time in an open and participatory center with more than 20 arts and cultural activities for all ages (15/01/2016)

The government team continues its efforts to recover spaces for Murcia.

Now is the turn of the Pavilion 2 Artillery Barracks reborn stronger than ever with the Cocoon project.

For the first time, the concept of culture of the city of Murcia is changed, giving citizens an opportunity to participate in cultural processes ranging from the physical transformation of Pavilion 2 at the possibility of developing and designing content for the center.

If before this place was reserved for resident artists, now the whole society opens.

With this initiative, the center adapts to the needs of the city reinventing their spaces and offering activities where citizens and groups transform themselves Hall, beginning the journey toward full utilization of the building with activities that improve the quality of cultural life of the city Murcia.

According to Councilman Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco, "the draft headquarters and a second stage where citizen participation and creativity will be the protagonists, where citizens not only have to be represented in the culture, but are part of the cultural structures creating a close and committed relationship to the real needs of the city and its inhabitants. In this edition, Hall 2 Barracks increases the number of activities aimed at families with film sessions and committed to quality childhood, original theater for children, storytelling and workshops of photography, sculpture, film and creativity.

Within the space coexist artists representing experimental art in the street, along with the rest of society.

Besides the Artillery Barracks offers a film program for all citizens.

The 'Film Artillery' aims to be a space dedicated to independent films, unedited and risk experiencing in their formats and messages and provides a meeting place and training for film arts.

The selection of films that are characterized by their beauty and ingenuity to most provocative lovers and committed cinema that gives visibility to the realities of a pluralistic society.

Tomorrow Saturday, January 16, between 16 and 21 hours, the event Upright collective 4ART and a group of DJs will take place.? Following the line of transforming the classical spaces of graffiti, the components of the group will go distributed by each one of the windows, so that each artist featured his part individually and all of them together create a creative atmosphere for the Hall 2.

4ART collective is a group of urban artists from the region of Murcia and the Spanish lift that develops various artistic fields among which graffiti, illustration, tattoo, rap music, photography, video and design.? The style works both individually and together is recognizable throughout the country and some abroad.

Cities like New York, Brussels, Berlin and Amsterdam have left intervention by several members of the group.

The film series on the street will take over the city, squares, cultural centers and terraces in the surroundings of the Pavilion 2 Artillery Barracks.

The neighbors and in general all Murcia may well enjoy film sessions outdoors.

Another innovative activities within the Chrysalis Hall 2 project is the collaboration of Emmaus Murcia offering workshops 'Metamorphosis Furniture' edition 1 and 2 where the citizens themselves can transform the furniture donated Traperos and will serve to create creative spaces in Hall 2.
