The working group today gave its approval to the Technical Specification for the Master Plan of San Esteban (11/01/2016)

Murcia City Council, in collaboration with the regional government continues briskly developing the project to recover San Esteban, included in the strategic lines of the government team for transforming the city and reclaiming public spaces.

The councilman of Promotion, Roque Ortiz, and the secretary general of the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson, José Vicente Albaladejo, have held this morning a meeting with the working group of San Esteban, composed of archaeologists, historians, architects and other experts, in which it has given its approval to the Technical Specification for procurement of consultancy and technical assistance for drafting the Master Plan Set of San Esteban.

Thus, the technical specifications established by the Director Plan will have, besides the archaeological site, including the final area in which adjacent unit whose treatment is interesting from the point of cultural, archaeological view, urban integration, tourism included , traffic.

Thus, the councilman of Promotion, Roque Ortiz, explained that "the Master Plan is not limited to the archaeological issue, which itself will be the main, but addressed in a comprehensive manner the task of making city, including recovery the square and garden, the informative uses musealization, the tourist-cultural, trade development and leisure, road and pedestrian traffic ... "

The drafting of the Plan require prior work of data collection that allows the winner to have a perfect foreknowledge of the state of the site and its surroundings, as well as an inventory and subsequent cataloging of items.

The team of experts to the development of this Master Plan will be multidisciplinary and will, at a minimum, archaeologist, architect, economist, engineer of roads, canals and ports, a restorer and a specialist in tourism promotion activities.

The preparation of this Master Plan has a budget of 180,000 euros plus VAT

Ortiz added that "we are working continuously to recover the site of St. Stephen and their environment, with expert advice and participation of stakeholders.
